The downside…
…of living in a town like Austin where the mass majority of people are not native is that everyone, I mean, everyone, leaves during the holidays. I cannot afford this because of the nature of my work. Therefore, I am stuck in Austin during Christmas with hardly a soul to hang out with and nothing to do.
awesome.
forever alone. :(

It’s sort of like a goth dress-up thing, you know, with the machines and the gadgets…
overheard at Quacks…
I need to attend Goth Dress-Up Things more often…

if you saw a white limo last night…

Elijah Wood Loves Austin.
For the second time this fall, I have run into Elijah Wood. This time outside the Alamo Drafthouse at like, 1AM. The other time was outside the Brixton in early October. But then I was wasted beyond repair and didn’t even know it was him.
This time, I was dead sober and just got out of a shitty movie, the temperature has dropped by like 25 degrees, and I feared that he would remember me as that drunk girl who jumped all over him and asked him what his name is outside the Brixton a few months back.
So I said nothing.
Boy should just move here already.

This is the trailer for the short film, The Man Who Never Cried. I posted about working on this film back in August/September. I was the 2nd Assistant Director on it. The film stars Keir O’Donnell (Wedding Crashers) & Jess Weixler (Teeth) and is a fantastic testament to the amount of talent that thrives in the Austin film community. This was one of my favorite productions to have worked on and we’re all insanely proud of the short film.
So now it’s in the finals for the Doorpost Competition. It’s up against 3 other films for $100,000 award. It went up online on Monday and will be online for voting for 6 weeks. You can watch the whole movie and vote ONCE A DAY for the six weeks. You do not have to watch the whole film every time to vote, but you should at least watch it once.
Again, I am proud to have been a part of this. This crew deserves a win. Won’t you help us out?

Austin Texas has some of the best film crews ever <3

Dear Austin,
I’m back from West Texas and (mostly) recovered. I see that you have built some random ugly poles into the sides of I-35 with LED lights attached. I am glad you wasted money on this project. How San Antonio of you.
Regardless, it’s good to be back in town with my shirtless neighbor who gives me peace signs as I walk by and Epoch Mexican Hot Chocolates.

Dear Austin,
I am leaving your city limits for 6 weeks for a film shoot out in Van Horn/El Paso & San Antonio (ugh).
Here are the things I will miss and will eagerly look forward to coming home to:
-the season of random marathons, walkathons, and other strange events that shut down every other bussing route
-the Liberty, the Brixton, Shangrila, Barflys, and Lovejoys
-trees, vegetation, and plant life that isn’t entirely spiky.
-Halloween and all the incredible parties it brings
-the Dia de los Muertes parade
-vegetarian food
-Epoch
-my random A/V gigs with FILO & Freeman at the Austin Convention Center
-I Luv Video
-the old hippies on the bus who were teaching the cute muslim child how to play their guitar while cheering that what they were doing was going to end the war in Afghanistan
-my awesome friends (my family away from my family)
-incessant Longhorns discussions
-Fun Fun Fun Fest & the Austin Film Festival (oh yeah, I guess ACL too)
-breakfast tacos
-this damn city
bye guys, I shall post some non-austin material shortly!
