This is the trailer for the short film, The Man Who Never Cried. I posted about working on this film back in August/September. I was the 2nd Assistant Director on it. The film stars Keir O’Donnell (Wedding Crashers) & Jess Weixler (Teeth) and is a fantastic testament to the amount of talent that thrives in the Austin film community. This was one of my favorite productions to have worked on and we’re all insanely proud of the short film.
So now it’s in the finals for the Doorpost Competition. It’s up against 3 other films for $100,000 award. It went up online on Monday and will be online for voting for 6 weeks. You can watch the whole movie and vote ONCE A DAY for the six weeks. You do not have to watch the whole film every time to vote, but you should at least watch it once.
Again, I am proud to have been a part of this. This crew deserves a win. Won’t you help us out?
PLEASE CLICK HERE TO VOTE FOR (AND WATCH THE WHOLE MOVIE OF) THE MAN WHO NEVER CRIED!!!
Austin Texas has some of the best film crews ever <3

Dear Austin,
I am leaving your city limits for 6 weeks for a film shoot out in Van Horn/El Paso & San Antonio (ugh).
Here are the things I will miss and will eagerly look forward to coming home to:
-the season of random marathons, walkathons, and other strange events that shut down every other bussing route
-the Liberty, the Brixton, Shangrila, Barflys, and Lovejoys
-trees, vegetation, and plant life that isn’t entirely spiky.
-Halloween and all the incredible parties it brings
-the Dia de los Muertes parade
-vegetarian food
-Epoch
-my random A/V gigs with FILO & Freeman at the Austin Convention Center
-I Luv Video
-the old hippies on the bus who were teaching the cute muslim child how to play their guitar while cheering that what they were doing was going to end the war in Afghanistan
-my awesome friends (my family away from my family)
-incessant Longhorns discussions
-Fun Fun Fun Fest & the Austin Film Festival (oh yeah, I guess ACL too)
-breakfast tacos
-this damn city
bye guys, I shall post some non-austin material shortly!

Hey Lovelies.
This blog will take a small hiatus, although I will try to post here and there when possible. I just got called to be a 2nd Assistant Director on a feature shooting out in Atlanta, TX (anyone been there?! WHAT AM I IN FOR?!), so I will be gone and very much away from Austin for the next few weeks of my life. I am terrified and excited at the same time. I hope these people like short, loud, Italian chicks with tattoos. Because that’s what Atlanta, TX, is getting.
bye y’all!

Off-Topic: Screenplay Writing
I’m seriously considering giving screenplay format lessons for like dirt cheap. It seems these big film schools have forgotten the importance of teaching the format. Just because you have Final Draft or Celtx, it does not mean you don’t need to know the backbone of screenplays: the format. It’s super important to production and when you have to break the script into elements, you need to have it properly formatted so the production can get the departments working in pre-production.
This is something some Austin productions seem to have an issue with. That’s fine. But please, start learning screenplay format if you’re going to have a script produced.
And on that note, if anyone wants me to teach them screenplay format or just go through their screenplay and clean it up, please contact me. I will help you out for like… next to nothing.
